Invasive plants are plants that "invade" ecosystems. Their seeds, roots, and branches take up space needed for native plants. They reproduce wildly, killing native plants and ruining habitats for animals.
My roots are firmly planted here in California, where I've grown up. I root myself with my family.
I think corridors and pockets of wild animals should be preserved, unless there becomes an absolute need to develop there. Those areas should be blocked off from humans, both for safety and preservation.
Native animals: sea lions, California condors, seagulls, coyotes, kangaroo rat, pill bugs, great white sharks, termites, carpenter ants, earwigs
Native plants: California King Palm, Poison Oak, scrub oak, engleman oak I have been in oceans, ponds, lakes, and rivers, and have swam, fished, and hung around such areas a lot.
Marine biology focuses on life of the sea, and oceanography focuses on the ocean as a whole (studying the deep, trenches, coral reefs, underwater volcanoes, etc.). We conduct research on ships because then biologists and oceanographers can get closer to what they're studying.
What animal are you closest (relationship-wise) to?
I'm closest to my cat Jackie. I raised him from a kitten as my personal pet. Every night he climbs up into my bed and wakes me up in the morning. He also cuddles and watches me play video games in the evening. |
